Immunological Responses to Helminths and HIV-1 CoInfections

چکیده
Aim: Helminth infections result from poor sanitation. We evaluated the effect of helminth on HIV disease progression through monitoring 2 outcomes: (1) plasma HIV-1 RNA Viral load (V/L) and (2) Cluster Differentiation (CD4+) T-lymphocyte count amongst helminth-HIV-1 co-infected persons. hypothesized that concurrent compromise immune control, resulting in rising VL reduced CD4+ that, subject to successful treatment, a decrease could slow down progression. Methods: reviewed 2032 citations, 432 abstracts, included 10 articles according PRISMA diagram. The methodologies were appraised using Mixed Method Appraisal Tool (MMAT). Results: At enrolment, was significantly higher individuals with helminths (5.01 log10 vs. 3.41 log10, p < 0.001). effective range 5.28 copies/mL at baseline 4.67 copies/mL, (p 0.05) after treatment trend for 0.61 lower VL. Significant interactions seen successfully treated groups values not different co-infection relative those infection alone.
Conclusion: Helminths co-infections are associated an increase levels accelerate sub-clinical symptomatic AIDS.

Helminths and Immunological Tolerance
Current immunosuppression regimens for solid-organ transplantation have shown disappointing efficacy in the prevention of chronic allograft rejection and carry unacceptable risks including toxicity, neoplasia, and life-threatening infection. Achievement of immunological tolerance (long-term antigen unresponsiveness in an immunocompetent host) presents the exciting prospect of freedom from immun...
متن کاملHelminths and HIV infection: epidemiological observations on immunological hypotheses
Parasitic helminths have co-evolved with the mammalian immune system. Current hypotheses suggest that immunological stimulation in the presence of helminths is balanced by immuno-regulation and by the broad spectrum of mechanisms possessed by helminths for countering the host immune response. The degree to which this balance is perfected, and the mechanisms by which this is achieved, vary betwe...

More than 60 million people in the world have been diagnosed with HIV infections since the virus was recognized as the causative agent of AIDS in the 1980s. Even though more than half of the infected patients have died, effective disease treatment and prevention measures have not been established. ART (antiretroviral therapy) is the only proven HIV treatment that sustains the suppression of pat...

The present research aimed to determine acute toxicity and evaluate the effect of sub-lethal concentrations of diazinon on some haematological and immunological parameters of Barbus sharpeyi by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development methods. Juvenile B. sharpeyi were exposed to 0, 5%, 10% and 25% 96h LC50 concentrations of diazinon for 21 days. Blood samples were taken after ...
